Course summary:
This mini-course will teach you how to use the available tools to research a property in the Brisbane City Council region. It provides a detailed breakdown of using the following tools:
- City Plan Interactive Mapping
- Development.i
- Queensland Globe
- Dial Before You Dig (and other altneratives such as making your own map in Queensland Globe)
- Development Assessment Mapping System (DAMS)
- State Planning Policy Interactive Mapping System (SPP IMS)
- Completing a State Property and Vegetation Report
- Q-Imagery; and
- Notes other paid services such as PropertEASE, RP Data, and Pricefinder.
This mini-course has one ‘Lesson’ which includes a number of ‘Topics’ and an ‘Exam’ at the end.
This course is interactive and at times you will be required to have multiple windows open. We recommend completing it with a computer so you can navigate between the course and other websites.
Who wrote this course?
This course is co-presented by Steffan Town Planning and written by their Director Alexander Steffan. Alex has been working as a town planner since 2005 and has gained approval for over 2000 development applications throughout that time. He has worked on a range of developments from single carports right through to high-rise apartment developments, high-yielding subdivisions, and industrial/commercial uses. With a team of town planners based in East Brisbane, there almost isn’t a town planning issue that Alex or one of his team hasn’t encountered before.
