In Queensland, the Planning and Environment Court (P&E) hears matters relating to planning and development, protection for the environment and coasts, marine parks, conservation areas, and more. Understanding the process and how to start a proceeding can sometimes be difficult to know without experiencing it firsthand. This short course will give you a base level of knowledge on how the Planning and Environment Court works, what is required, and how to start proceedings.

This course is co-presented with McCarthy Durie Lawyers and written by Director, Ian Neil. Ian is Director supervising the MDL litigation team in the Redlands and is located in both the Cleveland and Brisbane CBD offices. After 13 years in the Queensland Department of Justice (Magistrates Courts), Ian joined McCarthy Durie in 1989 and has been practising in the area of litigation (dispute resolution) ever since. With more than 40 years of Court experience, Ian’s knowledge of Court proceedings in all jurisdictions is hard to rival.
